I love my hardtop. I mean seriously. It’s my hardtop. I don’t call it “Sharka’s hardtop” but rather “mine”. It transforms the Miata from a floppy noodle into a real car. It offers a barrier against skin cancer and the weather. It looks gorgeous.
And then I got the bikini top.

After a year and a very long winter, I finally took Sharka’s hardtop off.
The 2nd part of my hardtop security project. I’ve got rare bolts from the UK, bolt specs that you can use on your own car, and lots of pix.
Every winter for as long as I’ve been a hardtop owner, I’ve dreaded it. The hardtop. Being closed in. The squeaks, the rattles, the confinement.
The fiberglass prison….
Whenever Sharka wears the hardtop, my thoughts always turn toward hardtop security. Like, how to make sure Sharka is still wearing his hardtop when I come back at the end of the day. It’s a conundrum. And as far as I can tell, NO ONE has a security method that’s up to snuff.

Photo post: autumn Sharka pix. Pretty leaves, pretty wheels, and my rarely-seen hardtop. All seen through my 70s-vintage Vivitar lens.
