The Dash Project Continues
January 5th, 2012 | Interior
What in the world could these be?
I got these little guys in the mail tonight. They came from the UK from a guy named Russell on the MX5Nutz forum. (That’s a direct link to his profile).
But what the heck are they? Maybe my little robot buddies can help.
(After more than a year, this dash is installed! Check out all the posts)
The NA6 Dash Posts:
Me Grimlock think it stink pretty.
This heavy. Me Grimlock strong, but this heavy.
Perfect fit! Me Grimlock am perfectionist.
Okay, that all for now. Me Grimlock say bye bye. BYE BYE!
(More to come soon. I just had to take pix of these immediately.)

These are going to look amazing.
I hope so! I can’t wait to see. I’m kinda nervous about cutting my crash pad up.
Mega!!
I’ve wanted someone to produce these for ages! They are going to look great Adam. Russell does do some sterling work!
oh, that’s gonna look great! can’t wait to see it finished
yes! i need 3 of these!
As a man who has just takn a scalpel to his crash pad for a more drastic mod I feel your fear. It’ll all be alright in the end. . .take a deep breath! lol
Look forward to the next installment (pun intended)
I scalpel’d this past weekend. Or rather dremeled. It was a little traumatic, but it came out alright in the end. Now to make up some little metal clips.
Mate, just bought a bomb 1990, we’ve got a 2010 too, but I miss the original feel of the car, I am very impressed with your dash fix up, I’m going to follow you down the path with that one, I was just wondering if you’ve had any issues with the glue lifting the leather up from the top of the dash?
Best Regards
Dave Kilby (Australia)
No glue issues. Of course, I’ve not yet installed the dash. Ask me again when summer rolls around. NM summer car temps are enough to test any glue.
I did use VERY good glue meant for dashboards and headliners. Weldwood contact cement specifically for this use. I had to buy a gallon.
Where could I pick up these pods?
