My retro window switch needed a buddy.
What do I do in my spare time, you ask? Stuff like this. I’m just about proud enough to explode right now you guys. EXPLODE!
This is my new Retro Hazard Switch. I’ve been working on it off and on since last fall. I figured out the connector, switches, and wiring, and then the project sat for a while. It couldn’t really move forward without a shop to cut the plates. Then, I got the window switches sorted out and a new water jet cutting place and things started to move with the hazard switches again.
And now they’re alive!
Brushed aluminum and a red hazard label.
Black anodized with red and silver labels.
I couldn’t just do one type of switch and be done with it. I had to do a few different versions to allow for some customization. I actually have four options in my store right now – brushed aluminum with either a red/black or solid black hazard label and black anodized with either red/silver or solid silver labels. I tried both of them in Sharka. The brushed version looked fine, but the black anodized… that’s the one that’s staying installed. I’m smitten by it. I’m a fan of my own work. That can’t be a good thing. Like laughing at your own jokes…

The black plate matches my KG cluster so nicely. It’s a small part and a relatively tiny change, but it just classes up the place so nicely. I wish I’d made these little switches ages ago. Of course, if I did, I’d not be all happy about it now.
The only problem… How does this fine black anodized hazard switch match my retro window switch?
