revlimiter.shirt!

So… Lately I’ve been noticing how all the cool car sites have these really cool logos and stickers. Like… really cool. Better than mine. Way better. And my jealousy has grown over the months.

I might be decent as a gauge designer and photographer. I might even be okay at this web design stuff. But as a logo designer? I really really suck. I’m not afraid to admit it. I’m horrid at making logos.

I sent a note to my buddy Steve who is an awesome designer, web marketer, and all around creative dynamo. I begged him for help with a new logo. He mailed back and said he’s also hopeless at it, but he’d be happy to bounce some ideas back and forth.

THIS is the result of an afternoon’s work.

The new revlimiter.net logo - perhaps you've seen it?

Isn’t it pretty? I love it ever so. I finally feel like one of the cool kids! No more standing in the corner at the car website middle school dance for me. No sir!

I wasted no time in putting it on a teeshirt.

Always wanted to have my brand new logo that you’ve never seen before on a shirt? How about a certain cartoon Sharka? Wait no longer!!! http://revlimiter.spreadshirt.com is open for business!

As of the grand opening, I’ve got three designs: the new 2012 revlimiter.net logo (called revlimiter.shirt), a minimalist illustration of my new Star Shark wheels, and the rearview Sharka cartoon. And I’ve got pix of 2 of those designs so you don’t have to wonder what they look like.

The quality of the shirts is great. I’m extremely impressed by Spreadshirt. Both of these are printed with their “Flex” printing method. That’s the most similar to silkscreening they offer. A vinyl-like material is cut out by computer and bonded to the shirt by a big heated press.

Spreadshirt also offers a “Flock” printing, which is the same as Flex but with a fuzzy material, and “Digital Direct” which is similar to what you find on all non-silkscreened tees (like you’d buy in Target). The shirts with the little Sharka cartoon are Digital Direct. The bibs are Flock.

Yes, bibs.

Isn’t she the cutest thing? Gush gush gush!

And truth be told, I’m really proud of my Star Shark illustration. It’s simple, clean, and retro. At least, it is on light colored items.

It really blows on dark colored shirts.

Woefully dark. Wayy too dark.

This is the BROWN shirt on the Spreadshirt website. It looks like a nice medium to light brown on their site. Even a dark gold. The Star Shark looks great on it. I was all excited and ordered it. And I got this chocolate brown thing. Can’t see the black wheel areas at all. And the logo on the sleeve? It might as well not be there.

I’m really not pleased with the brown. But at least I bought it already for myself and can save YOU the trouble. Buy the lighter colored shirts! Not this brown one.

Anyways.

I tried to keep the prices as low as possible. I set the profit between $2 and $3 per shirt sale, but some of them are still in the $25 range. The more stuff that gets printed on each shirt, the more they cost. But really, the quality is quite high. I’m quite pleased. I hope you will be too!

I’ll also have some stickers with the new logo for sale shortly. VERY excited about that!

There’s one simple rule about logos : make it simple. Success right here. And as a wheel whore, I love the Shark bib. Sadly, I have no kids.

  • Nice wall decorating material. I was checking continuously this blog and I’m impressed! Very useful information specially the last part 🙂 I care for such information a lot. I was looking for this particular information for a long time. Thank you and good luck.

  • I really do go along with each of the concepts you’ve got presented in your submit. They are really persuading and will undoubtedly function. Even now, the actual blogposts are extremely quick for novices. Can you you should expand all of them a bit from next time? Just post.
