*tap tap* Is this thing on?

Oh hai!

Oh hai!

If there’s still anyone out there glancing at Sharka’s blog… hello!!! It’s been a horrible amount of time since I’ve last updated things and I apologize for that. Sadly, this is likely not the update you’re looking for. There’s not gonna be much in this post.

Since last November, I had my enormous holiday sale (Sharksgiving) and have made literally thousands of gauges in the months between. I finished with those in the middle of January and got a bit order from a large retailer for more of my gauges. (yay! More on that someday soon.)

So… that’s what I’ve been doing. Answering emails, trying to keep custom orders from being too tardy, and making tons and tons of gauges. Not very exciting, but I thought I’d post a note here to say that I’m still alive, Sharka still runs, and I’m very much looking forward to posting some content on this blog.

Needless to say, I’ve not done a single car project since last October. Just been making every gauge ever.

I’ve got some projects saved up though! I did a couple small things to Stormy last fall that I’ll finalize and post about soon.

I’m also dreaming of some road trips or events. Anyone got a suggestion? In 2017, I did three Miata events. I’d love to do one or two more in 2018.

I’m one of the tragics that checks in nearly daily. I figured you’d just been busy, but it sounds like you’ve been even busier than than I’d imagined. Your IG posts show Sharka, Bucky and Stormy still running around, so that’s all the sign of life I need.

I’m looking forward to resumption of “real” updates when you find your feet again.

I noticed you changed the RetroSound in Sharka to a newer model, I’ve been hoping for an update (or a mention) on that, how does it compare to the old one? What prompted the upgrade?

The “new” Retrosound I installed is also discontinued. ha! It’s the Model Two. It came out about a month after I installed the original Model One. It has things like Bluetooth and better USB connection capabilities. I got it for one of my road trips to California.

I could blog about it, but… it’s SO similar to the other one, it’s barely worth it.

Good to see your alive and business is booming, I passed the hot wheels love love like you instructed me to, to someone you might know

  • GT-Alex says:

Damn, I’d love to see some of the custom gauges you made during that time if you have some pics lying !

AN event to attend for you ? I’d say the Karuizawa meet in Japan, might be hard to bring Sharka in but even without it I’m sure it would still be a blast.

    • revlimiter says:

No, I’ve not had time to take a single photo. Sorry about that. Most of the customs are just rotations or color changes anyway.

Japan would be fun and I really want to go someday, but I’m more dreaming of having some time with my car. A road trip is what I’m after.

  • Andrew says:

Thanks for your hard work. I was just enjoying the view of F1 gauges and MS horn button yesterday that I picked up from Sharksgiving.

  • John says:

Maybe you could make it up by buying the new MTE37’s in 14×7 0 Offset… and good to know you’re still alive… That’s alot of gauges.

  • Pete says:

Proof. Of. Life! ;). Dustin is right, you need a break. I need to get through my work crunch and then start thinking about a road trip too!

Glad to see you’re still alive. Embrace the busy while you have it!
I’m one of those nuts that checks (nearly) every day. One of these days I will get the funds and time to order a set of gauges for my ’90.

My eyes! I know, another comment, but I checked back on this post and decided to read your blog for like, the… ahem… 6th time. It is now around 3 am where I am and I have finished my task. Ooops. Who said you need to go to bed early for school lol?

  • Alec Hall says:

Good to see you’re still on the grind. I think I realized I had a problem when I ordered two things from you about a month apart and the second had a card that said “Thanks again” lol.

I read your NA6 dash install series nearly daily as I’m about to change mine over myself. And your QMAX install as I just bought the kit.

You should make a trip back here to Ohio some time. The Buckeye Miata Auto-X club is gearing up for another season. We also have a legendary cars and coffee thats sponsored by one of the importers here. It’s once a month, but there is the usual every Saturday one as well. Hit me up if you want the deets. Plus I would love to meet the legend in person.
