Retro HVAC Plate & Trim Ring

Awwww yeah!

Awwww yeah!

I’m very proud to present my latest interior accessory: the Retro HVAC Plate. This is one I’ve been asked to do many times. Also, the trim ring is my very first machined part. I’m pretty excited.

Such shine.

Such shine.

Fits every HVAC design I make.

Fits every HVAC design I make.

These parts are, obviously, inspired directly by the AWD HVAC panel. It’s a piece I’ve had in my collection for a long time and have always loved. I opened up the “portholes” as much as the OEM plastic panel allows so that it would work with all of my designs. Mine is aluminum vs. stainless on the AWD piece. And mine is anodized.

The trim ring is also very similar to the AWD piece. There’s minor differences in angles and finish. It works with my vent ring design so well, I didn’t want to change much. Unfortunately, the trim ring was stupid expensive to make. Just one of them costs 50% more than a whole set of four vent rings, my cost. But I had to start somewhere with machined parts.

Such class.

Such class.

Wow.

Wow.

And there’s the real reason it exists – the reason ANY of my parts exist – I wanted to have it in Sharka. I looked at the center tombstone one day and thought to myself “I need a black anodized metal cover.” A few months later, there it is.

It’s subtle. It’s very classy. It’s exactly what I wanted.

The Tombstone.

The Tombstone.

Coming along nicely.

Coming along nicely.

You can order your own Retro HVAC Plate right now. It’s in my store and should be available for quite a long time. I had a ton of them made up. And if you only want the trim ring, I sell it separately.

Onto the next project!

Any advancements on an NB HVAC panel Adam?

    Looks great!

Awesome! Yes, I will be ordering one in Black =)…

  • Winter is just around the corner, and it will be bringing with it
large heating bills. The thing that matters the most when choosing the right air conditioner is the size of the
room. Often, cheap contractors will pull the bait-and-switch – promise a low rate to
service your HVAC system and then “discover” an incredibly expensive problem.

Are you considering a matching anodized piece for the block off plate below the HVAC panel? Having the anodized hazard switch above and then the HVAC anodized and then a leather block off plate, seems like an anodized block off plate for your radio, clock, switches and starter would be a killer matching piece.
