Vintage Mazda Ads

Mazda Lamps stay brighter longer.

Mazda Lamps stay brighter longer.

I ran across this old Mazda Lamps ad and was smitten. I believe I saw it in an old Life magazine. A very old Life magazine. I stared at it for a good half hour.

From there, my search was on.

This blog post is the results of that search. The search for vintage Mazda ads. I’ve been collecting them via the local library and my scanner and downloading from various corners of the internet where allowed and not watermarked.

I hope not to anger Mazda by posting these. I claim no ownership. I just wanted to share with others who might not have seen.

I’ll shut up and let these old (and some new) ads work their magic.

What do you think? For me, it doesn’t get much better than that Mazda 1200 ad. I’m partial to the 94M, obviously, but the ad style of the 60s just does it for me.

I have two or 3 old mazda ads (not showed on your blog) that I would like to send you.

    Regards,
    Claudio Murta

Thanks for the ads! They will appear in a new blog post soon.

(for everyone who’s neither me or Claudio, I emailed him after he posted and he replied with a ton of old ads I’ve never seen.)

Thanks for this, it was fascinating and useful. There’s a consistent, cheeky tone of voice through all these ads that belies the company’s solid grasp of branding.
