Hardtop Season

Yes, it’s that time when leaves do their falling, color changing thing. It has been for a while. I missed the pretty leaves in the mountains by a good month. But yesterday, on my way to work, I passed this park still filled with yellow (and brown, and red) leaves. I had no camera with me, so the pix would have to wait.

But they didn’t have to wait long.

Sharka in the Park

This is the shot I was hoping for. I’m very happy with it. Those with lots of those big leafy things in their environments (I think they’re called trees) might not be too impressed, but for a New Mexican, this is pretty damn good. And the morning light was just right.

This is, photographically, not the best shot ever. But it does really show Sharka’s ride height. The industry term is “moderately slammed.” And it feels good.

I couldn't title this post "Hardtop Season" without a decent shot of the hardtop.

Bring on winter.

Bring on winter.

I’m sure I’ll be singing a different song when I have to put the snow tires on, but for now, I’m ready for winter. The warm hardtop is on, the heater works great, and it’s hot cocoa season.

Happy Holidays everyone!

So, does that mean you’re saying you drive Sharka in the winter?

Of course! I drive Sharka year round. I try to keep him buttoned up in the garage if it’s insane out and they’re spreading salt, but otherwise sure.

One of the nice things about living in the desert – they don’t often spread salt.
